WebX 2010

The 3 day event went great with very positive feedback from all the participants.

The WebX Blogging Workshop was attended by about 60 participants including students, faculty members and professionals from Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The 4 hour session was conducted by four professional bloggers – Saad Hamid (sizlopedia.com), Shoaib Khan (xnews.pk), Uzair Sajid (thetechnopath.com, WCCFTech.com) and Hamad Dar (koolmuzone.com, smashinglists.com). The topics covered included everything from basics like what is a blog, a microblog, how to setup your own blog, how to monetize it and drive traffic through social networks as well as advanced topics like SEO, Adsense Optimization and Social Media Marketing.

The WebX Meetup and Success Stories session was attended by over 120 participants making it the largest gathering of professional bloggers ever in Islamabad/Rawalpindi. The panelists included Hamad Dar (koolmuzone.com), Imran Hussain (ithinkdiff.com), Taimur Asad (redmondpie.com), Aamir Atta (propakistani.pk), Zeeshan Shafquat (Social Media Evangelist), Affan Haider (Head of Corporate Communications and Responsibility Functions, Telenor Pakistan), ZunNurain Khalid (ultraspectra.com), and Nabeel Ahmed and Waqas Butt (xnews.pk).

The panel moderators for the session were Uzair Sajid (thetechnopath.com) and Shoaib Khan (xnews.pk). All the panelists shared their success stories and interacted with the audience of the session.

On Day 2, a talk session on Entrepreneurship was held. The keynote speech was delivered by Mr. Tariq Chaudhry (President & CEO, Falcon Engineering Group, and President of Pakistan Computer Society). Other Entrepreneurs who shared their stories included Shehryar Hydri (COO Trango Interactive), Sajjad Zaidi (President and CEO, iinix Solutions), Waleed Riaz (Director and Program Manager, Digital Prodigy Limited), and Zubair Khan (CEO, Tranchulas). The event was attended by about 100 participants.

Day 3 featured the Internet Marketing Workshop by Google and P@SHA which was delivered by Badar Khushnood (Country Consultant, Google Pakistan). The 3 hour session was attended by representatives of over 60 software houses and IT firms from Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
